Position Snapshot
Boat Operators at US Ecology operate a vessel during any and all work operations.
Day in the Life
While no two days are the same, you can typically expect to:
Gear up in your life jacket and other safety gear
Inspect the vessel and its condition
Record time and activities in log book and boom logs
Ensure the overall safety of vessel and crew
Perform water blasting, vacuum technician work and marine work
Respond to emergency spills
Perform industrial maintenance
Perform other duties as assigned
What you need to apply
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
New Jersey Boating Safety Certificate must be obtained to perform the essential duties of the job (or a US Coast Guard Captain's License)
Willingness to work extended hours or shift work
Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
