CONTRACT SPECIALIST at PORT JERSEY
Bayonne, NJ Bayonne, NJ Full-time Full-time $34 - $40 an hour $34 - $40 an hour 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago This position reports to the Engineer of Construction for NY & NJ Marine Terminals; the position will be full-time onsite at Port Jersey, Bayonne, NJ.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Primarily performing contract specialist duties of a diverse nature requiring some independent analysis, the exercise of judgment in task execution, and detailed knowledge of company procedures related to the work performed.
Work may consist of a variety of duties in support of construction management operations.
While supporting the Resident Engineer, the contract specialist will be required to have full knowledge and familiarity with, but not limited to, the following:
contract documents, preparing and/or reviewing payment applications, prepare change orders, performing desk audits of contractor billings, ensuring proper documentation is received from contractors for all aspects of the contract, preparing monthly reports, monitoring contracts, preparing Project Meeting Minutes, preparing general correspondence, scheduling meetings/ inspections, faxing, posting information to logs; checking that contractor reporting for MWBE and Certified payrolls are completed, maintaining databases, records and filing systems; making follow up calls and appointments; communicating by phone, email, and coordinating processes.
QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:
Associates Degree in Business from an accredited college or university, Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering preferable.
Valid Driver's License required.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Expedition, OneDrive, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
Ability to pass a SWAC Background Check at High Level.
